Port Blair Airport, also known as Veer Savarkar International Airport (IATA code: IXZ), is an international airport located around 2 km to the south of Port Blair. It operates as a civil enclave under the management of the Indian Navy. The airport has only one runway stretching a length of around 3290 m. The Port Blair Airport is located around 2 km south of the city centre. There is only one terminal in the Port Blair airport, consisting of two gates and no aerobridges. This terminal serves 400 passengers at a time and buses are the mode of transport used from the terminal to the aircraft parked on the apron. A new terminal is also being constructed that is pegged to handle 1,200 passengers during crowded hours. Although the new terminal is under construction, it is around 83% completed as of 2022. The airport offers all basic facilities like ATM machines, free trolley services, wheelchair assistance for the physically disabled and elderly, various stalls, and food cafes.
