Salem Airport is located in Kamalapuram, 15 km northwest of Salem. The airport was constructed in 1993 for small aircraft. There is a training academy for pilots on the airport premises. Salem Aviation Services and Salem Flying Club operate from this airport. The Airports Authority of India operates and manages Salem Airport. Currently, there is only one terminal.
