About Bhatinda

The city of Bhatinda is in the Indian state of Punjab. Located in the Malwa Region in northwest India, it is 227 km from Chandigarh. It is a cultural gem that attracts tourists from all over.


Bathinda is primarily a heritage destination. Despite its Sikh dominance, the town has been influenced by Muslim and Hindu cultures as well over the centuries. The most revered Muslim shrine, the Mazaar of Peer Haji Rattan, shares its walls with a Hindu temple and a Sikh Gurdwara.

Damdama Sahib

Located 18 km from Bathinda, the Damdama Sahib holds great historical significance for the Sikhs. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, relaxed and took rest here after a battle with the Mughals. He established it as a centre to spread his teachings, and re-dictated the Adi-Granth here.

Maiser Khana Mandir

This temple is situated 29 km from Bathinda, on the Bathinda-Mansa Road. Goddesses Jwali and Durga are worshipped here. Maiser Khana was built in 1951. Two grand melas are hosted here every year, which is very popular with people from all parts of Punjab.

Qila Mubarak

Bathinda is known for its Qila Mubarak Fort. Researchers have discovered that the bricks used to build the fort date back to the Kushan Empire, in the 90-110 AD. Razia Sultan, the first and only lady ruler of Delhi, was defeated and imprisoned here. Inside the Qila Mubarak complex, there are also two gurdwaras built by Guru Gobind Singh.

Bhuj Airport is a domestic airport in Bhuj, Gujarat, situated within the Kutch District of Gujarat. Situated about 3 km from Bhuj, the airport is operated jointly by the Indian Air Force and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Therefore, it shares its runway with the Bhuj Rudra Mata Airport Base.
