It has one terminal that caters to both arrivals and departures. Currently, SpiceJet and IndiGo operate the most number of flights to and from this airport. Mahayogi Gorakhnath Airport is on the Gorakhpur–Kushinagar Highway, 9 km from the city centre and around 8 km from the railway junction.

Although small, the airport offers passengers all basic amenities, such as free luggage trolleys, drinking water, wheelchair assistance, etc. There are also small eateries and retail outlets at the airport.
