Good stay and great value for a Ryokan near Hakone. World recommend it for couples not for big groups. I think you get your money worth. Liked · Beautiful Ryokan. The onsen was great and the views were immaculate. Not too busy when we went on Nov and I got to soak in a public bath with no one around. It was a private bath both night and day. After all the people you encounter everywhere in Japan, this was a great way to relax and be at peace. You do not wear shoes in the ryokan at all so you know the floor is super clean. The food and service was delicious, most importantly they give both dinner and breakfast!!! They don’t bring it to room but the you go under to the restaurant and it was still quite nice. Worth it in my opinion. The view of the Ryokan was just beautiful. Breathtaking even when it is raining. Disliked · You have to take a bus or call a taxi to get here. You can walk it is only 15 min from the station but there are a lot of hills and the roads have a lot of fast cars. It is walkable but you will tire yourself out; It was a hike getting to the place. The rooms were quite small and bsaic and they did not set the bed for you. The elevator was super small. They do have instructions on how to do it though. They do open and close the Rokan door at midnight till 5 am so I don't think it's for people who like to adventure out at night.

The room had a private bath on the balcony as seen in the photos - the building seems newly renovated and the room was clean with a modern touch. When we first arrived earlier than expected, the staff that held our luggage was very nice. However, when we returned around 4pm, the woman at the front desk who checked us in was condescending. It wasn't particularly anything she said, but the way she looked at us felt as if she was looking at us like aliens. Clearly she shouldn't be interfacing customers. My boyfriend noticed as well - and we both agreed it felt unpleasant when we got to our room. This is so unfortunate for people investing in and representing this hotel because this initial encounter tainted our whole experience. It made me instantly regret spending our money here, especially because we came from another hot spring in this area a day before where the price was half, the staff was fantastic and our experience was wonderful. Everything else here was fine but given the so many other wonderful options, I am not sure I'd book this place again for this price point. They need to move this particular staff that works the front desk to the back office or give her rigorous retraining.

This is not the best but totally above average. We have a room with 2 beds and the mattresses are firm. The lounge facing mountain is very nicely decorated and serene to listen to the birds chirping. Onsen bath is great and there is also and outdoor bath. Perfect for couple retreat. I was impressed by the Japanese style breakfast with different local condiments and complex tastes. The dinner kaiseki is average with good portion. Note: property locates on a hillside. You will have to walk up a steep slope should you choose to walk with luggages.
