Great stay! My night train got canceled and I was lucky to get a free room at the A-Train hotel. Position is excellent, breakfast also very good, however what I liked the most about my stay was the staff, great hospitality and very nice people that helped me sort out the problem with the night train cancellation! Thank you again and I m definitely coming back to A-Train hotel if I m in Amsterdam

Just spent a great four days here, very clean, pleasant hotel. Staff were exceptional, everyone was so friendly and helpful, particularly Gina who gave us great advice on where to visit and what attractions to see. Would highly recommend a stay here, so close to the railway station, literally three minute walk across the road and just a few minutes walk to the shops, canal and all the attractions. Liverpool girls.

There was a infestation of brown bugs in my room. Reached out to three receptionists about this issue and would like a refund and cancel the rest of the stay. They explained manager must be present to deal with my request. The manager never show up to process my request despite my three attempts across the span of two days. Edit: I did not provide "feedback that my issue is resolved". I said that I am good when receptionist asked "how are you?" You mentioned that the first night there is no other room available yet I was not compensated in any way for the first night that I spent the night in fear sleeping with bugs running around. The receptionist was extremely condescending, which is similar to your response. The whole time I raised this bug issue. I am constantly getting doubted by the staff members despite multiple photos. In fact, for the third attempt, I modified my schedule and made an effort to return to the hotel in the middle of the day in order to communicate with manager but got rejected and talked down to by the staff. I do not understand why a simple phone call was never offered to me as an option even when manager was not onsite. Or maybe I was lied to when I was told the manager was not available since you mentioned you are on site almost everyday. At this point after my third attempt, I was frustrated and did not want to further ruin my vacation and simply gave up. It seems that whenever someone brought up an issue. The response of the staff is to procrastinate as much as possible until the customer give up. I do not recommend staying here. What a shame because I like the theme of this hotel and the decor of the lobby and dining area. Had this issue was resolved properly, this would have been an amazing experiences.

This is a quirky hotel, no question about it. Everything is train themed. Its owner is into trains and if you are too, you're in luck! My family of five needed a last-minute hotel room to spend a night in Amsterdam and happened to land here. The only room large enough for all of us was all the way up in the attic, so far up, in fact, that not even the elevator would take us and our luggage there. Not convenient, but not a big deal either in our case. I stayed here in June of this year during a blistering heatwave and was slightly worried about the room temperature, being directly under a 200-year-old roof. My concerns were quickly allayed, however, when I discovered ample air-conditioning in the room. The room was nicely appointed and in great shape. The breakfast is basic but sufficient. The hotel is also smack in the middle of all the Amsterdam action and a 5-minute walk to Amsterdam Central train station. What makes this hotel really shine, though, is its excellent staff. Everybody working here was exceptionally friendly, loved to chat us up, and seemed to love and take great pride in working there. That tells me something about the company culture. With the caveat that one shouldn't expect a Hilton Hotel, I would highly, highly recommend this unique and wonderful hotel.

It's a lovely little hotel. It is diagonally opposite the main entrance of Amsterdam Central Station. It is also easy to arrive with two large suitcases. The room was small but comfortable and well heated. And a friendly hint about local specialties. There are two cute grandfathers at the front desk. They were saying the name of the hotel in English, but instead of a train, they said A train. The breakfast room was like being in a real train dining room. Classic train seats, tables, walls covered with historical photos, and model trains. Loved this lovely hotel and I would love to stay here again when I come to Amsterdam. Because of the time, we did not sit in the breakfast room to have breakfast. The friendly staff asked us to bring several fruits, bread and so on to pack breakfast. The hotel breakfast is very good, there are several kinds of fruit, continental breakfast.
