Kimchee Busan Downtown Guesthouse - Hostel

This was by far the worst stay during our month long travel through Japan and South-Korea. Lacking on all fronts; there was not one aspect to make up for the countless issues. The room was enormous, which I suppose would be a reason to be enthousiastic, but sadly, space was all it had to offer. - There was a yellow stain on the sheets. - There was no light switch near the bed. - The window was moldy and did not lock (even though you could walk from one room's window to the next). - The entire room was extremely humid: all our clothes smelled bad and our sheets were horribly damp. - The pillows were so flat that our necks hurt after one night. The bathroom was even worse. - The room and especially the bathroom had a funky smell. The elevator smelled even worse. - The shower head and its attachment to the wall fell down three times. It just completely detached from the wall, without me even touching it. - There was mold on the ceiling. - The bathroom was also big, but there was no real shower cabin, which resulted in being cold while taking a shower. - The entire bathroom would flood after taking a shower and there was no towel or wiper to dry it, so the floor would stay wet the entire day and night. - There also was no proper ventilaton, so the room would stay very humid and wet after taking a shower. There was a system to get new bath towels, but the sizes of the towels were ridiculous. - They seemed to get smaller every day; the last day the towels were the size of a hand towel. - They were weirdly focussed on each person only having one towel at a time, so no hand towel or hair towel, just the tiny towel. - The towels also smelled bad. The toilet was bad. - The toilet was loose and would literally move when you sat down. - The flushing handle fell off. - There was sealant broken off the toilet bowl and laying next to it. - There also was a hole in the wall next to the toilet. The room was noisy, which we did not mind a lot, since the guesthouse is also focussed on people meeting other travellers, I suppose. Still, the room was not very sound proof. - We could also hear the washing machines of the staff (which were on the floor above us, apparently) in the middle of the night. The staff was not super helpful and forgot who you were every time. - Because of the system we needed to ask for towels several times at the front desk and the owner just asked us if we needed to check in, despite us having been there 3 days in a row to ask for new towels. The stuff you need when travelling lightly (which is the crowd this place is aiming for) were lacking. - There was no toothbrush, toothpaste, cups or glasses, razors, body lotion, or conditioner. All in all, stay away from this guesthouse if you want a clean room with the minimum requirements, since it did not deliver on any front.
