Comfortable hostel with a very cool host. Had a very pleasant stay at Silk Road. The host was a very cool guy, and it felt almost as if I was staying at a friend's house. Basic but clean. It's a little difficult to find, but if you stick close to the northwest intersection that it's located, you'll find the narrow stairway entrance. Room type: Bunk bed in mixed room Lockers • Size: Square, smaller than carry on but larger than personal item • Access: Key provided for integrated lock Bathrooms • Number: On main floor (I didn't go to 2nd floor) one bathroom for 2 rooms • Combined toilet/shower: Y Common Area: Living room with table and couch Amenities • Included towels: Y • Outlet by/in bunk: Y • Bunk curtains: N • Included breakfast: N Misc • Set up bedding yourself: N • Break down bedding yourself: N • Elevator: N • Location: A little bit of a walk from the train station, but not too bad Notes: There's a terrace, but I didn't have time to check it out

The best guesthouse experience I've had during over 4 years travelling. Kim is the man. Incredibly interesting and a true host. He showed us some incredible authentic spots to eat in the local area of Yaengdo we would have never been brave enough or have the know-how ourselves to go in to. He was helpful in every way possible during our time and we became friends during our short time. The location's perfect if you want to experience true local fare and swerve the tourist traps, whilst still being a short walk across the bridge to Nampo metro station (your key to the rest of the city). My only regret is not spending more time in Busan, at Silk Road and with Kim.

We loved our stay at Silk Road, it's a new hostel from 2018 and has the most wonderful staff. Real family feel and that extends to the other guests - with only a few rooms you get familiar with the other faces. Safe, quiet, clean, with kitchen amenities and spacious dorms. Location is perfect, easy walk across the bridge to get to the shopping district, Lotte Mart, subway, Busan Tower, various markets... all the stuff we enjoyed the most in Busan. Easy public transport connections to Gamcheon village, Taejongdae, Haeundae Beach, etc. It's great value for money but you also feel really valued as a guest here, not another number on a bed. The team have plenty of tips and advice to get the most out of your time here. We saw lots of people extend their stay at Silk Road Hostel because of how good it was and we wouldn't hesitate recommending it for anyone else! One of our faves of late for sure :)
