Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Airport, commonly known as Kanpur Airport (IATA: KNU), was once solely used for military purposes. Commercial operations here began in 1970. Its single terminal operates domestic flights only, but it has flights arriving from almost all parts of the country.

The Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Airport is undergoing various extensions. The parking space is being extended, and a new terminal is being constructed to increase the passenger handling capacity of the airport.
