Bijli Mahadev Temple

Located at a height of 2460 m above sea level. The Bijli Mahadev Temple is a “Kash” style temple where Lord Shiva resides in the form of a Shiva Lingam. The temple is reached after crossing the Beas River. It is located around 24 km away from Kullu. This temple gets struck by lightning every year and hence the name ‘Bijli Mahadev’.

Shimla airport (IATA code: SLV) is a domestic airport. The airport is located in Jubbarhatti, around 22 km from the city. It was made by cutting a mountain top to make the runway. The airport has direct flights from Shimla to Delhi and Shimla to Kullu. There is also Pawan Hans helicopter service from Shimla to Chandigarh. This is a major boost for tourism.
