Garh Rajputana Camps Jaisalmer

It was a total letdown, nothing as shown in the pics. We went there in Dec, the peak tourist season and here's my experience. We had pre-booked and pre-paid the desert camp. They provided cab from Jaisalmer to the camp. After coming to the camp, we checked in. Everything was smooth until this point. Next, we went to the rooms. The rooms were nothing as shown in the pics. They were proper brick-and-mortar rooms, not tents. The rooms were just okay, nothing extraordinary. Then, they tries to sell us the jeep safari which we took. It was a good experience, but everything is overpriced there. In the evening, they presented an entertainment program, which was just okay. I'd rather not look forward to it. They also provide food, the food was not good at all. Even the breakfast next morning was just okay. The thing is, these camps are owned by rich "marwaris" but operated by villagers, and hence the quality of food, maintenance, cleanliness, etc. was sub-par. Moreover, during the tourist season, they try to sell you stuff aggressively. Hence, please be wise when you choose your desert camp. Honestly, we felt that the desert camp could be skipped, there was nothing fun there. One could travel from Jaisalmer to 'Sam' village to experience the dunes and do activities such as jeep safari, camel safari, paragliding, and ATV rides, etc. Prices (Dec 2023): Desert Camp: 4500/pax (including to and fro private cab, stay, meals, and camel safari) [Review: **, just okay] Jeep Safari: 750 / pax [Review: ***, fun but too expensive] Camel Safari: Included in Package [Review: ***, fun] Other Activities: ~1500/pax

Not worth I paid for. Lots of restrictions like 9.30 am , have to vacate, check in at 3pm. No non veg option, have to pay and get it from other restaurant. Just for a camel ride and cultural program, pick up / drop and good rooms...nothing else worth it as a package
