The property was undergoing landscaping when we checked in/out. Due to this the walkways were not that clean, and the lawn was not much usable. The dining room breakfast service was extremely slow - orders took 30+ mins even for simple things. There was no place to clean shoes when entering the room, and even the staff walked in with shoes which made the floor quite dirty. The rooms overall were nice and they had good activities to keep kids busy. The staff was friendly and tried they best, but they are definitely understaffed. The location was good, walkable to the market which has some great food and dining options. The live piano at dining room was amazing. We had a good stay but were not overjoyed as we have been in many other IHCL properties.

We’ve visited this hotel several times over the last few years. It is still undergoing extensive renovations, so I’m excited to see the updated rooms. The reception and restaurant used to have more of a colonial hunting lodge vibe, thankfully its makeover has updated the aesthetic! The restaurant almost feels coastal now, evoking maybe more of Kerala than the mountains, but it’s a welcome change from the stuffy Colonial decor of yore!

We friends ( 15 of us) had dinner at this place. Every dish was very nice and tasty( veg and Non Veg). The staff was exceptionally nice in ensuring we go back - Happy. It's a pretty neat and clean place with multiple food options.

Located very close to Sim's Park, this boutique IHCL SeleQtions (part of the same group as the Taj) has the signature Taj experience of hospitality and impeccable service. I've always found it amazing over the years how a service person at any Taj property I've stayed in ever says a no. They all go above and beyond. The Coonoor property used to once be a priory attached to the almost 300 years old All Saint's Church - that's still standing strong....though it opens only on Sundays for mass. Specific call out to Mr. Sanjeev at the frontdesk for making the checkin experience so smooth despite a hiccup with Expedia payments coming through when booking. At any other hotel group, we were more likely have been standing out in the cold, till the payment was confirmed. The breakfast buffet is a good mix of local, mainstream Indian and international. So is the food menu at the only restaurant they have, "Peony" attached to the very colonial style Hampton Bar. A compact property. Can feel more like a lavish, warm and friendly colonial homestay with large sprawling lawns - rather than a hotel. But that's exactly what's so endearing about the experience of staying here. The comfort of a luxurious home, British colonial style with the best service, Taj style.

Had the most wonderful stay at the hotel. The service was great, staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable, the grounds are beautifully maintained and the hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment, I cannot wait to see what it's going to look like after it's complete. Totally recommend this property to anyone and will definitely stay there again if I am ever in Coonoor.
