Kanan Beach Resort

We have stayed at Kanan beach resort twice - a beach resort is an experience I look forward to when visiting my parents from the U.S once a year - and I really wanted to give them 5 stars. However the hospitality can benefit from serious improvements. We were hassled from the night before departure (while trying to have a relaxed dinner) to the morning of departure with questions about what time we were going to check out. The front desk even called my father’s cellphone! (when we were trying to enjoy the serenity of nature), asking us when we were going to check out. These were rude and unprofessional interruptions to an otherwise peaceful experience. When presented with this feedback, the lady at the front desk tried to explain this by saying that she wanted to make sure the bill was going to be settled appropriately. What kind of reputable establishment doesn’t trust their guests to settle their bill during the regular checkout process and instead hassles them during their stay - did they think we were going to swim into the ocean to avoid the bill or climb the gate out? Pretty bizarre and annoying. While checking out, the lady at the front desk tried my credit card and immediately said that it doesn’t have enough money on it or doesn’t work. A strange allegation, for it took me less than 5 seconds of looking at their credit card machine to notice that all that needed to be done was the pressing of a Continue button and a signature to get through the transaction. Her lack of effort and knowledge on how to operate the machine for American credit cards was perhaps excusable but the way she handled it was not, instead of asking her management for assistance or apologizing claiming it was the customers fault. It was again unprofessional for a resort of such caliber. No other complaints. A beautiful resort and apart from these kinds of minor insults/annoyances you will have a lovely experience. We are on the fence about returning back (will update this review if we visit again) but we wish Kanan the very best, they have great potential and a good thing going.

An amazing and calming place. A great way to escape everyday stress. The service is amazing the location even more so. The rooms are beautiful. Me and my family left on 26th October to 30th October. And I left with a heavy heart. We were so lucky we even saw dolphins! I'd like to thank sakesh (in charge of service) and his team and staff at front office for being so warm to us. And Id also like to add the food is just amazing. Overall just an awesome place!
