We booked this hotel for 2 nights. This was our first stay in this hotel and despite a few red flags from the reviews we went ahead and booked. First of all, this hotel does not have a parking and we had to keep the car on the street. As soon as we checked in (around noon), we found that the hotel room was not clean (dust all over the place), ceiling area close to the AC had mold growth, the bathroom was wet like someone had just used it and the washbasin area had disgusting soap sud residues. Even the toilet was really bad. It had mold growth on the walls and ceilings with badly aligned toilet seat (which will make the thighs touch the toilet commode sides while sitting) and we also found half used toiletries. We were really hungry after a 18-hour long drive so we first went out to eat and while leaving, we asked them for a AC remote (that was missing from the room given to us). When we returned after lunch, we went to the reception and asked for a change of room (because of the above reasons) and the receptionist (tall, thin, fair, extremely rude guy) was not at all cooperative and was acting smart by saying that the rooms are fully booked. Then we asked if the AC remote was put in our room. And the rude receptionist asked a staff guy to fetch the AC remote from another room number, which obviously meant that there were unoccupied rooms available. We could not tolerate that so we searched online, found a replacement hotel and checked out immediately though we had to forgo 100% of the stay amount. While checking out in the evening on that day itself, the reception guy asked us why we are checking out and when we gave the above mentioned reasons, then he miraculously replied that "they have one room available just now" (how convenient!). We refused the offer and checked out. Basically, this hotel is a cheap quality lodge with rude reception staff and overpriced rates. They seem to be under some delusion that they are on par with the other better hotels around them and that they can simply put up such inflated rates. One can definitely find several better options in the nearby vicinity.

The hotel is perfect with the kind of rooms and service they provide especially at the kind of prices they offer. Only single issue I found was their first impression is not that great as the lobby area is not at all ventilated and it becomes very very difficult to stand in that humid atmosphere. The rooms are well air conditioned but when we first enter it feels very annoying due to the zero ventilation. The staff was very hospitable otherwise and took the feedback positively.

We had booked the room in advance a d there was a delay in our check-in time. We had already informed about the late check-in but still the room was not made available and non functional room with no access to hot water, no AC and no basic commodities like towel was given to us. Service is extremely bad! Receptionist just want to satisfy their personal business gains and does not care about the incoming Customers! Extremely poor service.

My stay at VITS Mangalore was a mixed bag. The staff's dedication to pleasing guests was evident, and the hotel's location, near popular tourist spots, was convenient. However, the high price we paid during a long weekend left us questioning the value for money. The amenities were disappointingly basic, and the lack of dedicated parking, being part of a larger building, was inconvenient. One significant drawback was the subpar maintenance, especially evident in stained toilet seats, which detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, VITS Mangalore has its strengths in staff hospitality and location, but the basic amenities, lack of parking, and substandard maintenance may leave guests expecting more for the price paid.

We stayed at VITS Select Kudro Destinn and really liked the hotel. It's new property which is spic and span and well maintained. The rooms are spacious with all modern amenities. The suite room is large enough for a comfortable family stay. The hotel has co-working space as well and hence is perfect for business travelers too. The hotel has separate restaurants for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Their menu is quite exhaustive and their local dishes are delicious. Highly recommend to make it a base to explore Mangalore.
