Great place to stay to be close to the busy areas of Fountainhas. Easy walking distance to the main attractions. Felt very welcome and well looked after at the Mateus hotel. Jeffry and Krishna were amazing and made us feel like we were in a home away from home, they really make the place 5⭐️ they were respectful, kind, accommodating and everything we asked for was accommodated with warmth and ease.

I had an incredible time at Mateus. The house is gorgeous and the location is perfect. Derrick and Jefry went out of their way to make me feel at home, and the proprietor’s hospitality is unmatched. I loved all the historical touches in the house, from the portraits on the wall to the architectural drawings and photos that showed the renovation process. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Goa!

We had a lovely stay at Mateus. The house is beautifully renovated and furnished, our room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and staff were very helpful. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Fontainhas. Highly recommend heading to Antonio’s next door for cocktails and tapas.

Located a the heart of Fontainhas, Mateus offers a glimpse into the rich history , culture and the charm of Old Goa.The heritage ambience of this place is a step back in time.The meticulously preserved architecture, antique furnishings, and traditional decor created an atmosphere that felt like a journey through time. It was truly an exceptional experience. The hospitality extended to us was beyond compare. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. I highly recommend this heritage stay to anyone seeking a blend of top-notch hospitality, a captivating heritage ambience, and a truly unique experience. It's a place where you can make cherished memories while being surrounded by history and charm.

Truly enjoyed my stayed at Mateus boutique hotel. The house is beautiful and the one I was staying in had beautiful Juliette window overlooking colorful Latin quarters street. The charm of this old Portuguese style bungalow right in middle of buzzing locality is truly living in piece of history. Lastly, The team managing property are the best, they accommodate your requests best of their capabilities.
