When reviewing 5 star hotels, it's always a but difficult because it's the little things that separate a 4 star hotel from a 5 star. The amenities are great. The pools have great views and are very clean. The morning breakfast easily makes top 3... great selection and quality. There are multiple restaurants, and the prices were better than expected. The kids play area in the front is well staff and more importantly the kids loved it. The beach is as expected. Things that detract from the 5 star experience. The rooms need some small fixes, including some burnt out bulbs. The grounds need a bit cleaning (plastic debris in fountains.) The kids ice cream parlor seemed haphazardly staffed. If a room sleeps 4 people and there is only a single bed, it's absurd to charge for a cot. All of the hot tubs were out of service.

Don’t be fooled by the mysterious good reviews online!! If you are a customer who was fortunate enough to experience quality in your life, then do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs – it will disappoint you. Prior to travelling to Pattaya, we’ve done in depth research about the offering in this area. The Royal Cliff Grand Hotel had really good reviews on Tripadvisor & Google, which we always consider in our decision making when it comes to choosing a hotel. We checked in late in the night – no issues with that process. The next morning, we started our 4-day disappointing stay. The breakfast is very basic, the coffee is bad, and the service is something out of a bad movie. I ordered a coffee but got somebody elses cappuccino instead. Then the restaurant manager tried to convince me to drink anyway since it was already on the table. I would say 70-80% of the hotel guests are Chinese, Indians and Russians. So expect the buffet to fulfill their needs accordingly. The sunbeds are worn out, dirty and old. The toilets at the beach are a disgrace. Check the attached pictures. The view and the big rooms are actually the only good thing about it. There is no service personnel at the beach. You’ll find small restaurant by the sea but again no quality at all, dirty and overpriced. The barkeeper served a wine glass to another customer in the same glass I had used a minute before for a quick degustation. Last but not least – the employees speak very poorly English. Good luck!
