Mixed Experience at Gold Beach Resort Rating: ★★★☆☆ I recently stayed at the Gold Beach Resort, and while there were some positive aspects to the experience, there were also some notable drawbacks. Here's a breakdown of my stay: **The Good:** - **Food Taste and Variety:** The resort offered a good variety of food, and the taste was quite satisfying. The dining experience was definitely a highlight of the trip. - **Place and Ambiance:** The location and overall ambiance of the resort are pleasant and offer a relaxing atmosphere. - **Room Upkeep:** The rooms were well-maintained, and I had a comfortable stay. **The Not-So-Good:** - **Water Quality:** Unfortunately, the water had a soapy quality and an unpleasant odor, which was quite off-putting. - **Room Cleanliness:** The cleanliness of the room toilets left much to be desired, and there were some maintenance issues, such as taps coming loose from their fittings and a cracked window facade. - **Dining Service:** The dining service was subpar, with a need to remind the kitchen staff of our orders. This lack of attentiveness was disappointing. - **Second Visit:** Based on the overall experience, it's a place I'd consider for a one-time visit but not one that I would eagerly return to. **The Highlights:** - **Swimming Pool:** The resort's swimming pool was a highlight, offering a refreshing and enjoyable experience. - **Staff:** The facility and housekeeping staff were humble and welcoming, which added a positive touch to the overall stay. One of the business /leisure mixed use hotels on the promenade. They love their full paying leisure guests, and not so much the business guests who provide regular business. Funnily, this was told to me by their front office staff, Nirbhay. Rooms used to be nice, now not so well maintained. Mattresses have sunk and are lumpy. Breakfast is decent, though the service is super slow. The chef is always open to special requests.
