The hotel’s location by the lake is breathtaking and the views from the room were stunning. The staff was extremely courteous and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The food was delicious and the amenities were top-notch. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Udaipur.

One of the things I noticed, is your staff truly had a 5 star mentality. At the restaurant I ordered a passion fruit and lemonade which the bar didn't have, however they took the initiative to make a similar drink for me - small things like that show that this hotels hospitality is on another level.

We have been going to multiple luxury properties both in India and abroad for years. Food has never been a problem for my daughter despite of her having food allergies. Chefs at other Leela locations, Taj, Oberai groups of hotels have always been very sensitive to her food allergies and she has never had a bad reaction in the past. However, my daughter had a severe reaction to the food prepared at Leela Udaipur and had to be taken to ICU - she barely made it alive by chance and sheer luck. This happened even though my wife specifically discussed with chef the exact recipe and ingredients of what needs to be prepared - something she has done many of times with other chefs at other hotels and had never had an issue - so chances of any allergen either existing or new was next to zero. Mistakes do happen and we understand that but there is a big difference between mistakes and big blunders. We were told that the chef who prepared her food has been suspended until inquiry is conducted. However, a day later we saw same chef working in breakfast buffet area who saw us as well and quickly disappeared. To our surprise, no repercussions at all ! No details of any food testing have been shared with us by the hotel. When we mentioned these concerns to a Leela team member, he stopped showing up so he doesn’t have to face us. One thing I do want to mention is that Leela Udaipur staff supported us during emergency at the hospital. Leela team members were there with us throughout the time with full support and assistance anytime we needed it. Everyone made sure we were properly taken care of both at the hospital and after we were discharged. That's the reason for a 3 star review. The trauma was so severe for my daughter that she has stopped trusting outside food even when back in the US - one chef destroyed all the trust that had been built by other chefs from the past. We don't want anyone to go through what we went through. Witnessing your child almost losing their life is a nightmare that we'll never forget, and we don't want anyone to endure such a harrowing experience in their lifetime. This can be prevented with the right training and sensitivity towards food allergies. When you go to a 5 or 7-star establishment, you expect a certain level of quality and proper training for chefs. We urge Leela Udaipur to prioritize food allergy training for its chefs to prevent such serious errors.
