Just about the worst hotel ive stayed at. Nothing like the website. Poorly renovated old building with dirty carpets, creaky floorboards and noisy air con that keeps you awake allnight. Not to mention the lumpy beds and threadbare linen. Breakie is in a dungeon like room downstairs but not to worry because after the first day you won't want their soggy food and weak coffee. Most guests go to the street cafe across the road for a real coffee and Greek Koulouri. As for the staff: surly couldn't care less. I made the mistake of asking for help with my bags (no lift) to be assisted with a finger pointed at the stairs. If your desperate dont book for toolong as they wont refund.

I think they are living on past glory here. For the price we paid, we were expecting a luxury boutique hotel. The pictures on the website are not representative of what you get. I think the cover picture of the hotel must be at least 10-15 years old. We also way over paid. We booked the hotel directly through their website in May. When we arrived in July, I saw the rates were now less than 1/2 of what I paid (still probably overpriced). We booked a Deluxe Double room and when we checked in, the room did not look at all like the pictures. We asked the registration person about it and they offered an upgraded room (presumably because he saw how much we overpaid). The upgraded room was nicer in some respects (it was bigger), but again, for the price you would expect more attention to details. The A/C units were underpowered for the room. One remote was missing a back cover. The other A/C remote was missing a battery (we took one from the TV remote so that we could operate the A/C). The door to the bathroom was much shorter than a standard door and as a tall person, I kept hitting my head on the frame. The showerhead holder was almost ready to crack off and you had to always hold it in your hand because it wouldn't stay in an appropriate position. We got up early to go on a tour, so we were at breakfast first thing in the morning. Even first thing in the morning, the eggs were too cold to be edible and the selection of the breakfast items was minimal. We also noticed that they store some foods (like cereals), just in a big open bowl with only a paper napkin covering them for the night. It did not look like they paid attention to proper food handling practices. The red stair carpet that greeted you when you entered the hotel was very dirty. This place really needs an update. It was not all bad. The staff was very friendly and if you are looking for a convenient location to the Acropolis, this certainly was. I don't think the hotel was in the best of neighborhoods though. There was a sex shop on either side of it less than a block away. The area was certainly not that nice (lots of graffiti, closed stores, etc). In summary, just way below expectations and quite overpriced.

Carpet upon entry was filthy. We chose a deluxe room based on website pictures. The room looked nothing like the pictures. When we inquired they did move us to the room picture on their website (the reason for the better service rating). The new room had several issues with things in I’ll repair. Hotel needs a big renovation. Website outside pictures are clearly from 20 years ago as the trees were small. Not updated since then. We overpaid far too much for this hotel.

This hotel is not friendly for elderly or handicapped persons. Carpet was filthy and sticky on entrance to hotel. I injured my foot while on holiday and visited the ER and was told I needed to be non-weight bearing for 6-weeks. I was offered surgery but was flying home in one day so told surgeon I would wait until I got home. I got splinted and required crutches. The gentleman at the front desk refused to accommodate in anyway. He even stated “oh please you don’t need surgery he just wants your money”. We were placed on the 4th floor. The elevator is on the 1st floor. You have to climb 2 sets of stairs to get to 1st floor and elevator is not only super small but only goes to 3rd floor which then requires another flight of stairs to get to room. For the price we paid for room I would’ve assumed we would’ve received better service. Also no view of acropolis.
