We really enjoyed our stay at the African Pride. The rooms were beautiful and large. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was terrific. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. We also took the hop on hop off bus tour which has a stop not too far from the hotel.

Sebole restaurant is absolutely amazing service was lovely food did take a tad long. The table bread was scrumptious, steak was delicious. Great aesthetic wonderful new look and feel. The dessert was divine yum!

10 of us stayed 7 nights on a Girls Trip and the service we received was stellar. Mr. “D” Dingaan helped to organize excursions, reservations for meals, hair, spa and entertainment. He made certain any accommodations we requested was met. The hotel is located in the heart of a restaurants, bars and shopping and we felt completely safe walking around in the evening. We got to know several staff and wanted to highlight Bella at the front desk and Zanele in housekeeping. They made our stay memorable and we will definitely be back. So if you book this hotel please be sure to ask for Mr. D and tell him the 10 ladies from Atlanta, GA, USA, referred you.

We feel like family when we visit African Pride. This was our second time staying with them and were just as pleased as we were our first time. The staff are always so wonderful and the customer service is reliable and consistent. The location of the hotel is perfect. It boasts two of the best restaurants in Melrose Arch, so if you're not up for going out, you can dine in. It's also surrounded by a ton restaurants and retail shops, so you're not without options. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a safe for storing your valuables. Rideshare pick up/drop off is easy peasy. Overall, it has everything we value from a safe and clean location, walkability, customer service, ambiance and more. African Pride is our home away from home. We look forward to visiting again.

I’ve decided to stay here as Marriot at the same location was twice more expensive. I was very surprised how friendly is the staff working here. Hotel has nice swimming pool but because of winter time was to cold for me to swim 🙂 Pool bar is nice with a good selection of drinks and snacks. I also like the quality of rooms and comfy bed. The only thing what I am not sure about is no door to the bath area but curtain instead. Still, that wouldn’t stop me from staying in this place again and that what I will most likely do next time when I visit Johannesburg.
