Alfama Patio Studio

The place was really small. The bathroom is even smaller. I'm 5'6" and the sink was in my chest and the pipes on top of my knee when sitting on the toilet. The shower pressure was great however confusing because there were hot/cold knobs up above your head. They don't do anything. You control the temp with the knob that turns it on. The rooms were small however the beds were comfortable enough. I wouldn't have any of my kids here if they were younger than eight. Safety wise to easy to open up terrace doors. The patio had a great view however none of the tables or benches were out. Most likely because it's November and it's raining. Kitchen was okay. Pots and pans were greasy and dirty. I always hand wash items before use anyway. I prefer making meals on my vacations due to food sensitivities so I would've preferred that the kitchen was cleaner and better set up but can understand why one wouldn't need it. Other than just small details that are just to give people a heads up because I would like to know what to expect. Everything was great. The location was amazing. Walkable to a lot. Beautiful and unique. You can jump on the 28E Tram right out front. Even better is to walk out and go right. Walk the tram line yourself for all the beautiful views and point of interest on the way down to the Arco da Rua Augusta. Food everywhere is delicious. Can't go wrong anywhere you go. Even the restaurants downstairs from the apartment were wonderful with views from the windows. It was confusing coming checking in so make sure you follow the pictures in the email because the pictures mark the spot, don't read the signs on the building. The safe was different number in the picture than on the actual safe. There is a number above the doors in the courtyard but it is not the apartment. You actually have to walk up the stairwell located to the corner left of the building. All in all it was a great introduction to Lisboa. The value of the place was decent and we will stay again.

Great place. Perhaps the best hostel I have been at. Rooms are clean and so are toilets. Staff are friendly and the tours as well as breakfast and dinners were great. Best thing was the feel and atmosphere. Very homely and easy to meet other people. Location is in the old town area which is great but may be hard to find the first time around.
