My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights and my god we couldn’t wait to leave! We won’t be coming back to Italy again after our experience with this hotel! First of all I will give them that the location is awesome ! but it’s such a shame because the staff have torn this place down! I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still there in a year. Every time we came to the reception area which also is the restaurant area we were ignored or looked up and down and laughed out or they would speak in Italian knowing we couldn’t understand them and clearly they were talking about us. You would try and order a drink wait for ages no service go up and ask they would send you to 4 different people before you got served well if you got served. Staff would either be eating in the restaurant or on their phones or talking about customers they blamed it on us not understanding Italian, but you can tell when someone is being rude and obnoxious. The way they treated my partner like he was nothing was absolutely disgusting and then being so sleazy towards me was foul. Towards the end of our stay we tried to avoid going pass reception as we didn’t want to wreck our holiday anymore if we had to deal with their behaviour. But on our last night we had to pay and check out and the cockiness of this staff the carelessness of the owner was outrageous took no responsibility for their behaviour and simply said “okay” not even a apology! I’ll be telling everyone not to stay here.

The location of the hotel being right next to sea in sort of a small cove and the view from the room directly looking at the sea was quite nice and beautiful. Room was clean, fresh and comfortable. Beğenilmedi · -Hotel claims they have free wifi however the connection is really bad and often disconnects if you are not close to restaurant or lobby. -We had two heavy luggage but there was no bellboy to carry them so we carried them through a lot of stairs in different buildings. -Sunbeds and umbrellas cost 45 Euros per day per pair. Hotel have a space in the divided tiny cove beach however even if you are a guest at the hotel you need to pay 45 Euros which is a huge rip off! -Breakfast is really weak for the amount we paid in high season in Amalfi. -Staff is very rude and unprofessional! During lunch time we wanted to drink some beers and coffee first in the hotel owned restaurant but the waiter told us if we are not going to eat lunch yet, go to the tables in the back which had no shades or cover from sun.

While the room is very cute and location is away from the crowds the parking is a nightmare as is walking tons of steps with your luggage. That can all be overlooked if the staff actually had a pulse. We had to talk to owner (female in her 50s) who was so astonishingly rude it was shocking. We had to use the parking next door because they were out of space, but it’s 15euros more. You also can’t reaver parking so you take what’s available. When we questioned why they didn’t have Parking for our reservation her first response was yelling, “if you don’t like it you can leave and stay somewhere else.” Proceeded to walk away to let her staff deal with us. Unbelievably unprofessional and quite honestly pathetic for someone in the customer service field to lead with that as their default answer. Would not recommend.

Well what a shame! We had such high hopes but the owners of this place and their absolute arrogance destroyed the dream entirely. The location is absolutely superb, every other bar and restaurant overflowing with authenticity and warmth so our trip was saved by their hospitality. The owners of the hotel sit like lords eating and grazing all day with absolutely no regard to the people supporting their business with not a word of hello, goodbye or enjoy. The rest of the staff are obviously miserable in a way I’ve never seen in Italy, usually it’s a joy to see the workers enjoying a meal together however it was quite clear this was not extended to them here. Assuming it’s fully booked with or without effort makes them a lazy host and we’d will be returning to Praiano but will stay at La Conchiglia next door, a small family business whose warmth and kindness abounds like the lemon groves surrounding. The little bar and restaurant next door is sublime and always full speaking volumes to the empty tables at Alfonso. Watch out, your arrogance may well be your downfall.
