We (family of 6) stayed in one of the two room apartments (302) at the Al Hambra for 4 nights in August 23. The Al Hambra is a bit of a mixed bag. Brother Vafe was a friendly host as were the other attendants. The Apartment is located in the heart of the SultanAhmet area with close access to food, a historic mosque and the Sultanahmet Square where the Blue and Aya Sofia Mosques and the Topkapi Palace. There's multiple routes to the square can be taken. As to the apartment itself, there are a few things that could be done to improve the experience while other issues may not be such easy fixes (for example structural). The bathroom was tiny and sharing it between 6 people was challenging so would suggest a large family to stay in the single rooms Our apartment's shower had two metal bolts protruding out of the back wall and the floor was slippery so would suggest to hotel management to place a non-slip shower mat in the shower and to weld off the bolts to avoid potential injury. The other let downs were the room door being unlockable from the inside without the key, no ac or fan in the second room, the curtains being to thin, and no shower towel changes through out our 4 nights at the hotel despite multiple requests. For a large family, it would be helpful either having a second key or for the door to be lockable from the inside. The hotel is located in the heart of a busy area so is really well lit up at night and has a big street light right outside one if the windows so a blackout curtain would be more practical. Overall, I would stay here only if it was for a night with a smaller family unit and there wasn't anywhere else available. I went ther to see the hotel and the guy showed me the apartment and wanted me to book at the reception but i didn’t cuz I wanted to do it online. When i came they gave me another room cuz the other one was more expensive he said. The customer service was very bad at the beginning but it got better later. We were there 7 days. The room we got had bad smell because of the carpet I guess. We were there for shopping so we was out all day and came back just to sleep. It was close to faith area, metro station and grand bazaar

We spent 7 night in this place, everything went perfect. Vefa and Amid, the owners are very nice people, almost every night they sat outside with us talking and they answer to all kind of questions we had about Istanbul and the community it self. And we had great conversations with them about everything. The location is perfect, it's on the best side of town, the old town. Where everything is cheaper and better. There are little cats who made company. There are reviews here about this place being down the street but this is part of Istanbul experience. Istanbul it self is among the best destinations I ever being, never had any problems not even when we been in very poor neighborhoods, all people were very kind. I want to return and I felt sad by leaving

Absolutely don’t recommend for the customers who expect to get the room they already booked. 22.02.2023 I came with my family to the reception and asked for the hotel room, which was booked well in advance. We were told that the room was being repaired and they only had the replacement – the room in a DIFFERENT hotel nearby, which was barely near 1-star of quality. We didn’t hear any apologies and moreover were blamed for rejecting the worse option. Terrible customer service.
