Very unique experience Firstly, the room and apartment is beautifully clean and the AC is great and the host is good fun. But, my girlfriend has dietary problems and we specifically booked this place because it shows a kitchenette area in the common area. The host confirmed he had a kitchen that we can use. On check in He showed us the hob and how it works, the sink, the microwave, the pots & pans, the dishwasher and various random plates & cutlery. In the UK and any normal place, this normally means they are ok with you using the kitchen We then decided to quietly cook pasta on the 2nd night but he burst in asking why we were cooking. This immediately killed the mood and made us both a bit on edge for the evening. He eventually left then came back at the end of the meal and we had to awkwardly rush finish eating & wash up in dead silence while being watched. It’s something I’d expect at a prison camp or a strange distant family members house, not something I paid £195 for as a fully grown adult with his lovely new girlfriend in Rome. In the mornings, the tables are set nicely for breakfast which is full of beautiful pastries and the host is there to make coffees for you. But then he sits awkwardly in the corner of the room “his office” and sort of watches while sort of being attentive to making sure you have everything you need. He’s a great guy & very attentive, but privacy was tough In the room itself, with him sat on a chair literally the other side of the door, it’s hard to feel private and we found ourselves always feeling listened to. This of course was a massive c*ckblock and made us feel awkward and it was hard to relax. Also, the host was annoyed with us using the kitchen but at 10:45am on the first day his entire family (kids, Middle Aged people, old people) were having some sort of gathering across all the tables and chairs in the common room that all the rooms are based around. It just feels like somewhere I still can’t believe I paid for, with confusion about the purpose of a kitchen (it is to cook food in btw….) and the constant lurking feeling I would not stay again, it gave us things to feel bad about and we were trying to enjoy part of our summer trip across Europe.

Excellent rooms. Managers are really kind and helpful.
