The photographs are absolutely accurate. There are four bedrooms. You could fit up to eleven people. The bathroom is beautiful. There is a large kitchen diner which is extremely well equipped. The host is a pleasure to deal with. And some lovely touches were in place, including drinking chocolate, shower gel and slippers. I was initially concerned by the proximity to the Chinese take away and chip shop but it proved to be no problem at all. We decided to have Chinese food from the take away and it was delicious.

Just spent the weekend here with friends, in total a group of 7. The photos are pretty accurate. We would have struggled if there were more of us in the living space as there is only sofa seating for 4 and dining seating for 6. One shower is literally a toilet sized room with a shower in it. We were overwhelmed with the smell of air freshener but realised by the smell in the downstairs toilet that was due to the chip shop being immediately behind - although this was the only room that did smell of chips. There were some maintenance issues of broken tap, broken shower head, cracked floor tiles in the upstairs toilet, mouldy sealant, tired grout, broken light fitting and paint/dirt covered windows - although the later will be tricky to keep clean with a building site with a few metres of the front door. It was surprisingly quiet considering it’s proximity to a main road and the beds were all very comfortable. Perhaps in 15 years of weekends away we’ve been lucky to always stay in very well maintained and clean places. It did feel like our luck had run out a bit and this was by far the most expensive place we have stayed. Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid.

The hosts were very quick in responding. Our group of 12 had a lovely stay at Amara for the Newmarket Races. It’s just as in the photos. Definitely for groups.
