FOOD POISONING! Do not eat here. Also, the food did not even taste good so it was a lose-lose. Absolutely certain we got food poisoning at the beach club restaurant here given the timing of our painful stomachs, which is a shame because the hotel is beautiful. Cocktails were great and we each enjoyed a classic martini and an espresso martini. I emailed privately to tell the hotel and they did not reassure me after a week of waiting now that they are taking it seriously so I am here to warn you. I was sick for 2 days with cramps and bathrooms and my travelling companion was out for 6 days including the last 4 days of her annual holiday trip. Ruined the end of our trip. She was bedridden on the couch feeling 3/10 and only able to keep down white rice. DO NOT RISK THIS PLACE. We ate at local places the other meals and felt totally fine. Only have drinks if you come here.

Cannot say enough amazing things about this property! Fantastic customer service, very well appointed rooms and public areas. Would definitely call this a luxury resort complete with just about everything you would expect. I felt very well taken care of at every meal, really enjoyed the two dining options and the food was pretty good. Don't expect nightly entertainment, but do expect a quiet property. If you're looking for a calm resort to relax and unwind, I would recommend this. This island is also generally a pretty quiet island, with not nearly the level of tourism as some of the other surrounding islands in southern Thailand. If you're looking for nightlife activity, you will want to look elsewhere. The beach is pretty, although the tide does go out during the day at this property so it's not always ideal to go swimming without walking out of ways from the beach. Didn't bother me though and certainly wouldn't mark that against the property. Prices for the spa are pretty expensive when converted to US dollars, so don't come expecting a bargain if you visit the spa. Also don't expect any kind of a bargain if you're looking for Island excursions booked through the hotel. That is the one downside, they are currently only offering private tours and not group ones and they will charge the equivalent of your right arm for it. However, even with all of that taken into account I will stay here again! Loved it!

Underwhelming Experience. After trying out various accommodations in Thailand, this particular stay was quite disappointing. The service was poor, leading to long wait times, and the overall atmosphere didn't feel welcoming. While the room itself was good, it was the only positive aspect of the entire hotel. Moreover, considering the high expectations that come with a 5-star establishment, the cost was excessive and didn't match the overall quality of the experience. It definitely didn't offer good value for the price.

Anantara Koh Yao Yai Hotel has amazing rooms that are clean and comfortable, well decorated and can see sea views from every corner of the room. And the hotel has a full range of activities, including a large swimming pool next to the sea and a children's pool. A fun playground with bicycles for healthy riding and views of the island. The beach restaurant has delicious food and comfortable seating for dinner. Thanks to Mr. Wakim. I came to recommend travel and talk and provide services. I definitely felt warm. I came back and recommended my friends to relax at Anantara Koh Yao Yai.

Superb! This is a new property located on the non-touristy Koh Yao Yai island. The quality of rooms and facilities are fantastic as one would expect from Anantara. Every aspect from airport pickup, boat transfer and property life has been carefully thought out. What really stands out however is the level of service and friendliness of the staff. Don’t expect the beaches on the island to be Thailand top tier but the benefit of that being is the island has remained fairly undeveloped, especially being so close to Phuket. On balance I would prefer the compromise as it only adds to the charm and sense of peace. The pools are wonderful anyway. We will definitely be returning here in the future. The standard of service set by this property is remarkable and I’m dubious other Anantara’s can match!
