Apartments De Hallen

This is a chain of multiplayer hotels. If you make a reservation in one then someone emails you from the hotel and offers you an upgrade- Be cautious. I was upgraded from my executive room in jL No 76 to the apartments. Firstly: room was not ready for 3pm check in or past 3pm. There asked for us to pay the tourist tax ahead of time as opposed to check out which I did at the time. It’s tacky of course, I realize now that the hotel had no intentions of servicing the apartments. There was a $100 euro charge on my credit card for incidentals however on the day we decided to have lunch in the hotel; we were told that we could not room charge from the hotel. The upstairs apartments are very loud. The windows are sealed. You have no fresh air even in the hottest season. Fan are available at the front desk but they would do little in hot weather. There are no exhaust fans in either bathroom. The walls are thin. You can hear other patrons sneezing, using the the toilet etc. Whenever someone uses the stairs leading to the exit; it’s so loud you might as well be there with them! Especially ladies with heels on sounds like the construction each morning. There is loads of construction in this area. You will hear jackhammers early each morning and I doubt this will complete in the year or next. The room is not serviced by maid each day. In fact, it took four days for us to get fresh towels. There are no blackout curtains. Sorry foreign travellers. Your days and nights will be turned upside down and you will be pressed to get a decent sleep here. The room decor looks as though someone went to the odds and ends in Ikea and list cleared it out for the apartments. We have two coffee tables taking up most of the space downstairs and no where to hang clothes. I do not recommend the hotel. We are checking out early at our own expense. The persons at the front desk are unfriendly and can be rude, will lend them themselves to one word answers at best. No air conditioning and no heat. Weather changes quickly here and the room doesn’t Adapt. Many persons stand outside and send hand smoke pouring into the “no smoking” apartments all night long. It actually has given us headaches. The stench is incredible. I am surprised to see the many positive reviews here. I could maybe understand when the apartments may have been newer and staff may have been eager to please guests to get patrons. As the week passes, you will see more negative online reviews transpire. We could hear a man and woman haven’t a physical altercation upstairs and sadly It was physical. It was difficult to hear that. I wish I didn’t hear that, ruins the day. People save the money and visit a hotel With friendly efficient customer service and amenities.

What a fantastic stay we had at Apartments de Hallen in Amsterdam! The price was reasonable, location was a little outside the main downtown area which was nice because it was quiet but it was still very much in the city and super easy to get around by tram or bike. It was right next to foodhallen which was awesome, and the accommodations themselves were incredibly comfortable! I would recommend this place to anyone!
