Rooms are very dirty and our room didn't get cleaned until the day we left. The room next to us did get cleaned, but they just sprayed some kind of smelling substance in there. Breakfast is okay, but the water tastes weird and you usually have to ask forks and knives, because there aren't any and they don't refill them. The hotel no means deserves 1 star, but it is closer to that than 4 stars.

Eatabe review Where to begin… This was a very interesting four nights we spent at the Eatabe hotel in Luxor. We should start off by saying we visited late July, which is definitely the lower season for this area as temperatures are very hot. The hotel is undergoing some renovations in the lobby area at the moment so some of the aforementioned restaurants and bars were not available. Pros: The Hotel was very clean. We did not feel uncomfortable with the cleanliness at any time. The rooms are dated, but still in very good condition and well-maintained. The pool is great and a big selling feature for this hotel. One of the concierges Wael consistently goes above and beyond, and should be commended for his efforts. By far the best staff member we encountered at this hotel. The location was good and the hotel felt safe. Cons: The moment we walked into the hotel, arriving from the airport, before even checking in, a man approached us with pamphlets speaking about the massage services offered at the hotel spa. We politely declined and took his pamphlet and went to check in. Within about an hour of arriving in our room, we get a phone call from this man on our hotel room phone, once again pressuring us to come to the spa for one of the massages. I found this was quite inappropriate to cold-call guests in their room. Over the span of the next four days of our stay, we were approached by this man approximately 10 more times when visiting the lobby and pool area. Every time, there seemed to be some gimmick or discount (but these seemed to change every day). Every time, we politely declined. I found this was very pushy and inappropriate to be taking place within the walls of an established hotel. The breakfast. Our room did not include breakfast, which we knew before arriving. We figured we would just go down the first morning and pay for the breakfast buffet. Upon entering the buffet, our room number was checked on a sheet to be sure we were staying in the hotel and we were told it was 250 Egyptian pounds per person. This felt like a lot to me given then offering, but we paid anyway (along with a 100 pound tip). The breakfast was decent with a large selection the day we visited. We then went to the front desk later just to check on the price of the breakfast and were told it was 180 Egyptian pounds for guests. We then showed them the receipt that we were charged 250 pounds per person. This clearly embarrassed the staff as we had caught them in a scam. The restaurant manager came downstairs and eventually refunded us the difference. Overall, it was just a very awkward and uncomfortable experience. We then came to find out, that based on a placard fixed in our room behind the door, the breakfast is actually only supposed to be 150 pounds per person for guests. Even with the “correction” from the front desk, we were STILL overcharged. We did not pursue this any further, because for the sake of 30 pounds each, it not feel worth creating a large issue. I just wanted this experience to be heard, because I feel like this is extremely unprofessional, and the price of the breakfast needs to be sorted out and explained to guests upon arrival. The wifi. Wifi extremely slow in room and not great in the lobby. We really recommend visiting Luxor. It was a great place.
