The view and location are the only good things about this place. Brilliant location in the middle of Oia village, surrounded by restaurants, shops and all the famous sites. Stunning views of the caldera and the blue domes from the terrace. However, the amazing view is NOT for the sunset. If you are wanting to see the infamous sunset over the Caldera, you will NOT be able to see it from here as the sun sets on the other side! We had an extremely poor check-in experience. We showed up at the property and had to wait in the 37-degreesC heat for 40mins until somebody came to let us in. They kept saying 10mins on the phone, but took 40mins to arrive and then they were rude and curt to us, saying that we should have informed them of what time we would be arriving. Even though there is no information on the Booking.com page telling guests to do this. We received no communication beforehand, and no information was given on where to go or what time, or how to check-in. That is their responsibility as hosts which they failed to do. (For other future guests, you should wait at the Poniros jewellery shop to be collected by property staff and arrange a time for this beforehand! - how we are supposed to know this without them telling us is beyond me!) There is no reception or concierge desk. Staff are only around in mornings and then are off-site in afternoons. The property is incredibly difficult to find amidst a maze of stairs and villas on the cliff edge. There are LOTS of steep dangerous stairs! There is no disability access, even though this is not mentioned on the booking.com page. We didnt need this, but it is important information to include! The Wifi was not working at all both inside the room and outside on the terrace. And there was no mobile signal inside. So could not use mobile inside the room at all. When we tried to contact the manager Marina about the lack of wifi, she would not answer my phonecall and would only message on whatsapp. In her messages she was very curt and rude and refused to acknowledge an issue, saying "WiFi is working" and "sorry I cannot fix this". A guy came to check the wifi and agreed that it was not working at all. But the manager Marina refused to help any further and said she could not fix it, and refused to give a refund on this basis. I therefore could not carry out my work on my laptop throughout my stay. The outdoor jacuzzi was mouldy with mouldy grout and had dead insects floating in it. It was completely unhygienic and not usable at all! The beanbag loungers were dirty and stuffed in a corner of the terrace - not usable at all! The rooms were in a state of disrepair and very very dated. The place needs a refurbishment to make it suitable for living in. The walls and ceiling had peeling paint. There was a huge hole in the ceiling! The interior was dated interior with old furniture, and rust on many surfaces. There is a toilet plumbing issue, with a sign saying not to flush any toilet paper or anything else. As a result of this, there was a constant mild plumbing smell in the property. Very uncomfortable sleep! The bed was so uncomfortable, can feel springs in mattress and woke up with a bad back ache. There was a loud motor noise all night which was very disturbing. Overall, the manager Marina is extremely curt and unhelpful and has a bad attitude. She did not pick up phonecalls and was unavailable for any help with any problems. And was unwilling to give a refund. There is no staff on site for assistance if/when required. They tried to charge extra taxes on check-out too, even though the booking was fully pre-paid including taxes!

A truly amazing place.to stay. We are in the Galafaki unit with pool and two rooms inside the cave walls overlooking the caldera. People are lined up about 80 feet above us to see the view we have all day long. Total privacy in our suite. Marina, the host, is absolutely incredible!!! Kind, helpful, I feel like we are he ronly guests. Best vacation I have ever been on.
