Artemis Village

I hadn't planned to stay here, but it'll turn out to be on of the happy accidents of the trip. We had planned to stay in a property over in Fira, but when we landed at the airport at 1AM in the morning, we discovered our travel agent booked us a hotel on a completely different island. As we were sitting at the pretty deserted airport trying to figure out our options, Artemis walked up asking if we needed a place to stay. For €50, he had a room for us, and he'd personally drive us to his property. For the hour that we tried to sort things out with the agent, Artemis waited patiently for us. We got in his van at 2AM and ~ 7 minute drive later we were there. The place is meticulous and well kept. You can tell Artemis and Ana take great pride in their property. We heard the story of Artemis and his family growing up and watching the ocean from this plot of land, and so it was awesome to see them realize their dream to build a hotel for guests to share their favourite place. The walls were thick and I couldn't hear the other guests except if they were standing right outside the door or if I had my windows open. The property is situated near the ocean and you have a great view of the water from most rooms. It is a bit out of the way, and no breakfast is included, but you can order and have breakfast boxes delivered for €10, which was pretty reasonable to me. Artemis will take you to and from the airport for free, and to the bus station if he's around when you need a ride. The property IS on the flight path so you will hear airplanes as they fly overhead, but flights are not too frequent and primarily during the day, so it didn't bother me. It's something you may want to bring earplugs for if that matters. I think this place is a hidden gem, and a great layover hotel if you're transiting in and out of Santorini. I'm not glad at how I came across this place but I AM glad for having discovered it. If I'm back in Santorini, I would definitely more intentionally plan a visit back!

Anna and Artemis the owners, were very hospitable and go above and beyond to assist getting you ANYTHING you need! This place is exactly what you see: clean rooms, can see the Ocean, big pool. Do your diligence and see the location and if you need to arrange transportation for your trip then do so or Artemis can help get you a rental car. I would stay here every time as it is off the beaten path so we did not have to deal with any of the headaches of the Tourist trap places. Perfect 👌🏼
