Checking in the front desk staff were very quick, friendly, and helpful. Upon entering our room we were impressed with what seemed to be a newly updated space, with a modern looking washroom, new furniture in the entry to the room, and a very clean, comfortable bed. Although we could hear some noise from the other rooms, we couldn't hear any traffic or other city noise. The breakfast was good as well with lots of both hot and cold options to choose from. The only downside was that the shuttle they normally have to take you downtown wasn't working, but overall very happy with our stay!

Although it is not a perfect hotel, the rooms have some issues (watermark ceilings, old carpet, some minor issues) let me explain my 5 star rating. The service is excellent (although they hadn’t yet updated the key cards (apparently plan to do so after my stay) so I had to replace my room key 4 times as it quit working- the front desk staff were excellent and efficient- very good service. The beds are very comfortable and I felt very safe in this hotel. The maid service is great and unlike an expensive hotel that I recently had, the Atrium actually provides soap, shampoo and skin cream in handy containers which are replenished when your room is serviced. My stay included breakfast - and it wasn’t the usual continental breakfast that other hotels offer- you have a buffet to choose: eggs, potatoes, (most days had bacon) variety of breads for toast, croissants and pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit and orange or apple juice in addition to coffee tea or hot chocolate. The only downside was eating with wooden spoons and forks but that is being compliant now! I was very happy to have found this hotel which is conveniently located and did I mention free parking? Yes that too! You can book directly on their website and get a gift and discount (I didn’t but might consider this next time) So have I convinced you to try this hotel? I have not been compensated other than enjoying my stay - I hope you enjoy this gem yourself!

Although I love to travel, there are no words to describe how disgusting this hotel is. The carpets in the rooms are so dirty that the color of the carpet cannot be recognized at all. Consequently, after 7 days of staying in the hotel, we encountered a mouse!!! in the room (according to hotel and hotel room hygiene). When I reported at the reception that we had a mouse in the room, the receptionist apologized (wasn’t at all surprised!) and we were immediately given another room. That room just didn't look cleaner either. What should be said about the hotel where when you see a mouse crawling around your legs? The breakfast was disastrous! You can only eat scrambled eggs and fried bacon every day for breakfast at the hotel. There is nothing else for breakfast. No salami, no cheese, no salad of any kind. Old croissants from 7 days ago and on top of that, there are only paper plates, a plastic knife and a wooden knife from which you can eat breakfast. I am shocked by the positive reviews of this hotel on the Internet. For me, this is the most disgusting hotel I have ever been to. If you want to sleep with mice in your room, then this hotel is perfect for everyone!
