Loved this place! So cozy and comfortable, will definitely recommend and come back to stay. Lots of helpful amenities like laundry and postings on bus routes to popular attractions. The complimentary snacks and tea/coffee is such a thoughtful touch!

Some very strange reviews on here from pedantic guests. Please ignore them, as this place is great. The only issue I have had is trying to find it using my phone's maps. My phone says it is on the river, just down from Duklong Cafe. It took me ages to find this place, as it is actually situated back from the river down a few side streets. Essentially, walk down adjacent to the river past Duklong Cafe. Once you reach a grocery shack with green tarpaulin, immediately turn left. Walk for a minute and then turn left again. You will see the sign for Baan Nampetch Hostel. Check in was smooth, the owner is very friendly/ accommodating and there is a great communal balcony area with free coffee/ biscuits. The room itself is great. AC works perfectly, bed is big and comfy and there is plenty of space. Showers are shared but very clean and the water temperature is great. Hostel is very secure, given you need a key fob to enter through two doors. For 650 Baht a night I have absolutely no complaints. Great place.

Lovely staff - super friendly and helpful. Hostel is in a fantastic location because it is close to the main attractions, but far enough away from the Khao San area that you don’t get a crazy amount of noise. However, there are a couple of safety concerns the staff should address: 1) You need a key card to exit the 2 sets of main doors - a fire hazard; 2) Some doors (especially on “Violet” floor) are lockable from the outside with metal rings, meaning all someone would have to do to lock you in your room would be to stick a lock or metal rod in the ring, and you are stuck… to this day I am not sure why these metal circles are screwed into the doors in the first place (see photos below). Other improvements of lesser concern is that the ginger tea dispenser on the balcony had ants in it, and there is no shampoo in showers. Despite that - in our two stays here we had no problems with anything. The balcony is a very peaceful place to chill out. The laundry machine is also free for guests to use which is super handy! Overall a great stay. Thanks Baan Nampetch!
