Baan Tuk Din Hotel

Lovely room, but it is so noisy that you feel like you're sleeping outside! Didn't sleep through one single night! Nothing for a light sleeper! But very clean and charming, amazing coffee in the restaurant too

Perhaps my experience is unique, but my stay at this hotel was so bad, I need to warn potential visitors. The hotel is not cheap, so I think it is reasonable to expect a certain level of service and comfort. I do not think the hotel was full. I was actually the only guest that I saw. Maybe there were other guests. But it certainly did not seem that way. My room was at the top of the stairs, Rm 103. It looked over the street. It was utterly impossible to sleep there. The traffic noise never stopped. And it was not a low drone. It was motorbike racing until 3:30 and trucks and tuktuks and cars. Even with headphones in, the noise was too much. And there is no one at the desk. So, other than leave and go somewhere else, there was nothing I could do. Even when I checked out at 9:15 am, there was no one at the front desk. There are rooms on the other side of a courtyard. I believe those are the ones you see on the website. That part of the hotel was locked off. The rest of the complaints are mild, but annoyi g nonetheless. No housekeeping. The wifi cuts off every 20 minutesand you have to re-login. The room is incredibly dark. Forget being able to put on makeup. These are minor. But those alone are enough to not recommend the hotel. Especially for $70/night. It is a good location. And the decor is quirky. I did not eat at the restaurant or coffee shop. I did note that even though I was there Friday and Saturday night, there was no live music. Just in case that matters to you. I guess if you make sure you get a room off the street, it's ok. But there are thousands of hotels in Bangkok. There is no reason to choose this one.
