Played Golf on the Lakes 9 and didn’t stay at the Hotel. My review should reflect only the lake course as I believe the other course is in very different condition. Greens were generally very good. Fairways I would rate as average, not good. The real issue was Malay/buffalo grass invading just about everything and even on the fringes to many greens. It is a terrible grass for golf courses and almost impossible to chip from consistently making fringes into hazards. The course requires some really short lay ups from certain tees and then long challenging approach shots often with forced carries. I would encourage you to consider the other 18 holes as I am sure it is in better condition.

AC broken. They didn’t give me a new room. Really old room, it doesn’t look at all like the pictures. No furniture on the balcony. No phone at the room, you need to use your own. And they don’t pick up. It took me 40 min and 9 calls to get a hold of the staff.

Worst service ever. The marshal (Miss P.) showed a really terrible attitude towards me firstly to tell me to change my attire. yes I’m new to this and I had no issue complying with all rules had I been civilly instructed, not with such negative attitude and tone. Secondly, upon calling I was told that a player and follower could share a cart, going back in the course after changing, the same marshal again literally yelled at our caddy in our face about this and repeatedly said a follower needed separate ticket (which I had already bought). That completely ruined our mood for the day, not mentioning the fact they put my parents and cousins in the standard room although we booked and paid for the deluxe room almost a month prior. I don’t know if this kind of service and attitude is only given to the locals or worst only to me because I don’t look ‘respectable’ enough being a younger woman? Asking this because Miss Marshal P. did seem friendly enough to be happily smiling and chatting with our elder flight mates (my uncles) despite having expressed the totally opposite attitude towards me earlier.

I made today a terrible experience at Blue Canyon country club. We teed off at 1:30 PM. Soon we caught up with a flight of FIVE Thai players. They played extremely slow. We called the Marshall and asked him to tell them to speed up or let the flight behind them through, the Marshall denied in spite of the fact that there were holes open in front of that slow five some. At the end we and have a dozen flights played over 4 hours 45 minutes. this is in acceptable for a golf course who wants to be one of Asian leading courses. Is this Thai hospitality?
