Fantastic service, in a great location! We stayed here while in town for a wedding and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, clean, and well cared for. My only complaint is the heater (which is probably not needed in Houston most of the time). The lowest setting is 68°f, which is far too hot for me. We slept with it off and would have to manually turn it on a couple of times in the night. Other than that the stay was fantastic.

I just completed my stay at the C. Baldwin. I normally do not write reviews unless it absolutely warrants one and this one definitely does. The lobby and first floor of the hotel is top notch, gorgeous a total vibe. HOWEVER, that is the BEST this hotel has to offer. The room is mid AT BEST. There was no bath soap nor body wash. The toilet paper rolls was half empty and the room had food particles on the floor likely from a prior guests. The absolute worst part of my stay was due to my experience, or lack thereof with guest services. Prior to my arrival, I received a welcome text message from guest services, however, once I checked in, guest services just kind of disappeared. I couldn't get anyone on the phone at the front desk even though the hotel boasts 24 hr service. I tried the Hilton Honors app message and texted the number where I was initially contacted. It took over 4 hours to get my issues resolved. I wasn't able to use my on-site daily credit as the ONLY on site restaurant was closed for the duration of my stay, which meant no room service or or even dining in. The only place that I could've use the credit was at the bar which wasn't helpful since I typically drank alcohol during my restaurant reservations off site. Lastly, valet parking was over $62 per night!!!!! Never again will I stay at the C. Baldwin. This hotel was a 3 star at best. Terrible experience.

We stayed here for our anniversary. The front desk staff is nice but that’s about the extent of the “niceties” when staying here. The room design is good - loved the style and the location allowed us to walk around downtown. We found the morning after our one night stay that the shower drain was clogged and resulted in the basin filling up with shampoo and soap residue. We also found that the fridge didn’t work - or really work well enough to keep things cool / safe for consumption. We went down for breakfast and were ignored by all employees and waitstaff for 30 minutes while others came in and received prompt service. All staff involved made eye contact with us - so they knew we were here. We finally went up to the bar to order and were then “magically” seen. It didn’t seem to be an “us” issue as when we got up to pay the bill I could see nearly every other table trying to make eye contact to get service, place an order, or refill waters. I hate to complain, but this is supposed to be an “upscale” Hilton - I get consistently better service at a normal Marriott. I won’t stay here again and kind of wonder if the “Curio Collection” is worth another try somewhere else.
