We had a wonderful time staying here. The pool was awesome! The breakfast was delicious, watching the birds while we ate was cool, and the night frog walk was fun! They made us feel very welcome. David at the front desk helped me order pizza. Everyone was so nice! Great view of the volcano had it not been so cloudy. Close to restaurants and things to do.

Loved our stay here! The breakfast was AMAZING - the best breakfast i’ve had so far during our trip! The frog tour is def a must - great experience! Leo and his partner are lovely and gave us such a wonderful experience! Couldn’t recommend enough ☺️

Family run business. Genuine people, genuine experience. Would stay again. Leo and his partner are masters of everything: guides, hosts, chefs and biologists! They have their own "garden" which is more like small jungle. Can find frogs, spiders and more.

Excellent stay at Cabanas Del Rio! About the property: It’s super close to town which makes it easy to get to everything. The pool is lovely and can be heated which makes it nice in the evenings. The property is gated so you feel safe 24/7. The rooms are massive with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and an outdoor patio area with a table and chairs, so it’s great for families. I noticed some other reviews said the walls aren’t well insulated, but we never noticed any noise issues from the road or from other guests. There’s a beautiful garden in the back with tons of wildlife to enjoy. Breakfast is only $9 per person and it’s delicious with fresh food! About the staff: Leo and Deyber are excellent people! Leo is the manager and his family owns this property. The level of kindness, honesty and hospitality that he has is amazing. He truly goes above and beyond for each guest and made us feel like family during our stay. He also does a frog tour every evening in the garden, which I highly recommend doing. About Nene’s Restaurant: They have menus for this restaurant in each room and will deliver whatever food and drinks you want directly to your room. The food was so good and was still hot when it arrived. The ceviche was delicious and the tres leches is Leo’s moms recipe and that’s the best tres leches I’ve ever had! Highly recommend ordering from this restaurant or going to it for a sit down meal. Overall opinion: Awesome place to stay if you’re looking for a comfortable and affordable space that makes you feel like you’re a local.
