We had a private room with the 3 of us so sleeping well wasnt a problem. Also it was nice we could use an extra bathroom. Having many lockers is quite convenient aswell! I think the staff made the experience better. We talked to Clara and she was great! She gave me the feeling i was at home this whole time. Thank you CabanaCopa hostel 👍

The nightmare of any backpacker. This hostel is a health hazard - mold all over mattresses, which were in fact damp from the air in the room. Dirt just about everywhere; please do not book this accommodation in this hostel since you will have the worst time of your life (see pictures). There is also no way to complain / get a refund, since the owners are the managers and they do not communicate directly with guests. An absolute royal scam.

Constant overwhelming smell of humidity everywhere, except in the bathrooms/hallways near the bathrooms where it was a constant smell of urine. Every outdoor space became a smoker’s lounge and there was no way to enjoy the fresh air without the smell of cigarettes. The receptionists were always outside smoking on the job and it was hard to access them. You think it will be a cheaper option but they charge for everything. Breakfast is not included and you even have to pay for a towel. Someone had his bag with passport stolen from the bedroom while he was there and the security cameras were useless. The only positive about this place is the location, but with the metro system being so straightforward and efficient in Rio I would recommend staying somewhere else.
