As a first time visitor to Shanghai, location is superb. Only a stone’s throw away from Yuyuan Garden metro station, which is an interchange station for Line 10 & 14, the hotel overlooks a park & the surroundings are serene and quiet. Room size was adequate & basic complimentary items were provided, such as toiletries & refreshments. Slippers were provided as well. Breakfast selection was rather limited though & there was not much variety. It will get repetitive after a couple of days. Staff could be more warm & less robotic.

Close to everywhere, yet a good walk nonetheless. Hotel room was clean and up to date. Staff was completely clueless in anything except taking your money. No clue on any restaurant or convenience store nearby, attractions, metro station, places etc.

The best thing about this hotel in its location. You'll be at walking distance of a lot of landmarks, right close to the bund. The nearby areas directly adjacent to the hotel are not very lively, but just walk a few streets in any direction and you'll find something. The hotel itself has everything you expect from a value chain anywhere else in the world, clean and functional rooms, no luxuries, but everything you need for a normal stay. The personal is friendly, but they don't speak a lot of English.

Rooms are fine, the shower has a door and is separate from the toilet (not a given in every Chinese hotel). Bed was fairly comfortable, and we usually woke up without any back or neck discomfort. The front desk workers spoke English and always had free candy available. The cleaners were prompt and friendly, but didn't overly rearrange our belongings. Location is not super close to any single subway station, but it is equally close to about three or four convenient lines (~5 min walk). It is directly across from a fairly large park, which is a good place to escape from summer heat. If you like exercise, there's a running track around the perimeter and basketball courts as well.
