First off, I would like to say that the hotel (location, room size) itself is amazing, most of the staff are excellent and breakfast is delicious each and every time. However, the staff cleaning the rooms and those working at reception leave something to be desired. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link and this hotel’s weakest link is in its managers. I book a room at this hotel each year to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve but I will not be coming back because the staff are rude and unaccommodating. Lately the staff on hand have been lazy and unapologetic, perhaps due to having to work during the holiday season. I had a terrible experience with their male manager, a short-tempered, dark haired gentleman. He was incredibly rude and ruined my experience at the hotel. I left an electric toothbrush in one of the rooms last week and was told by reception that I would be able to pick it up by the time I got back. However, the receptionist never communicated this idea to the others and I’ve been told I would not receive my lost item. In a normal to above-average hotel, my lost item would have been retrieved and left for me at the front desk but this has not been the case here. Not only that but the cleaning staff has not even done the bare minimum to set up a clean room for me. I had to remove strands of old hair by hand to unclog the bath. I am disappointed in the less than stellar service provided by the hotel staff. I wonder why their service has fallen so low because my stay here last year was amazing.

Clean and spacious room. Fantastic breakfast options with lots of freshly baked goods. They have a pretty strict check in time at 2pm as guests can check out till 12pm. Overall, great value for money. I will stay here again. Perfect for single travellers.

Check-in time is at 14:00, but there are no rooms ready. We tried to check in at 16:00. We asked to be informed when the room is ready, but there is no option for that. Response is: "Just wait for maybe an hour, we can not call you when the rooms are ready". The employee at the counter with red hair responded very rudely. We had to fill in a paper for the rooms, but we had to ask for the papers ourselves while she gave other guest immediately when trying to check in. Other people coming later than us could check in immediately while we had to wait. We do not mind waiting, but we do mind being treated rudely. It is a shame for such a nice hotel with great location.
