Hands down tops in location. Room was fine enough. Challenge comes if you have mobility issues (I do not this is for fair warning). It is two buildings joined by a veranda/deck area at the second level. The lift is a European not large American style and doesn’t connect all areas. If stairs are an issue you need to call them and discuss room options. If it was raining this would not have been ideal as you have to go outside to get to most (if not all) rooms. Door to access building is heavy with a low knob that requires a key card. This means at check in you may have to wait a few minutes to get in- the door way is narrow but the can open both doors for more space. Ideal for one or two people and shorter stays. If it was my whole family for a week not sure it would have been as great in meeting my needs- but they could have bigger rooms. This is the Ruby room -224 I believe- The room had two mirror doors which helped with making it feel bigger and brighter. Also a safe and mini fridge along with coffee machine. The breakfast room keeps coffee and water along with few cookies/cakes available at all times. While I didn’t eat breakfast I checked it out on my way out- standard European continental items. The wine and chocolates left were a nice touch of welcome, I left the Reese cup variety when I checked out.

Read all reviews here; they provide many helpful tips. Irina and Antonio certainly made a Canadian girl feel welcome and explained all necessary hotel, city, breakfast, maze/elevator details. Maps, breakfast and a relaxing atmosphere are on the menu here. Adequately positioned 10 minutes walking from San Bento train station and adjacent metro station. Bring your walking shoes; city is reminiscent of San Francisco (hills). Need umbrella in Oct-Nov. Adequate time allotted to explore Porto: 3-4 days

Heart of Porto downtown, walkable to all locations, right beside metro and high speed train. Food and drinks are everywhere, close to tourist spots. Amazing staff, all speak English, breakfast is included and has a lot of diversity, building is 500 yrs old.

The location of this hotel was fantastic, but the inside itself was a bit of a maze and a bit tiring to navigate (several sets of stairs, seemingly two building connected via an outdoor section). I also think we might have had one of the worst (the worst?) rooms in the hotel (it seemed like it was very clearly an addition to squeeze one more room in..). The staff were present but I would not say overly kind of super customer-centric, quite average. This hotel is NOT accessible if you cannot climb multiple stairs and traverse with luggage. Breakfast was good enough (staff seems very attentive during this time) but is by no means outstanding. If you want to be in a prime location with quiet bed rooms/sleeping, this is certainly a good option. If you want something up-scale with a bit more of a catered feel, this might not be such a good option.
