Cinta Cottages

This place has so much potential to be great. The design and privacy of the cottages is well thought through and very pleasant. The rooms and outside space are spacious and really well finished. The staff are also really friendly. However, there are a few basic things that are really easy to fix that really let this property down, and impacted our overall experience here, especially given it was our honeymoon (which we'd mentioned but went unnoticed). The first was the cleanliness of all the furnishings in the outside area (sun loungers, table seat cushions and corner sofa covers - the inside was perfectly clean). They were all so incredibly filthy. So filthy you didn't want to sit on them and when you did old dirt crusted off them. We asked them to change these and they did change what they could and then put a white bed sheet over what they couldn't change, which helped. When the whole concept is that these spaces are a lovely oasis with private outside space you want to be able to enjoy it without laying in old filth. And it's so obviously dirty you shouldn't have to ask to clean these... We've been to similar concepts where they have changeable covers for the outside furniture that they wash with the bed linen. Or just scrub them occasionally! The second big issue was breakfast. Breakfast starts at 8.30, which is latest start time we've had travelling the world now for 8 months. We asked for it at 8.30 and the first day it arrived half an hour late. We had to chase this. They were sorry and apparently there was an issue with the stove. We complained and the next day they kindly agreed to serve it earlier than usual at 8am, and it was on time. The third day we asked for it at 8.30 again and it was 45 minutes late and didn't arrive till 9.15. When you're planning your day around breakfast and it's almost an hour late it impacts your day (we like to choose to work out either before or after breakfast). We complained again and they were sorry and kindly offered us our bike rental for free for our entire stay, which we accepted. Breakfast was on time the final day. The final thing they should address (though in fairness we didn't raise with them at the time) is room towels. Pool towels were nice and big but the room towels were so old the pile had come off and there were multiple holes...it's time they replace these. What is most frustrating about all of this is that we've read other reviews highlighting each of these issues. They are so easy to fix and they've gone unaddressed and it's negatively impacting what could be a real gem. We really hope they can finally fix these issues and we wish them the best for the future as it could be amazing with more attention.

The most amazing team running it and such a beautiful villa. The private courtyard, spa and room were so clean and nicely made up with little homely and quirky items to keep it interesting. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I will definitely stay there again. This villa is off the main beachfront but you won’t find this type of villa on the beachfront where it’s busy. Right next door is a beautiful little restaurant with some of the tastiest food.
