Superb location right in the thick of things in the Fort area. Restaurants and bars literally on their doorstep. Basic spotless clean budget hotel with common bathrooms which are plentiful on each floor. Nice common room with tables and chairs and also a nice rooftop sitting area. Excellent WiFi.

I arrived at 2.35, well after check-in time, and was told to wait ten minutes because my room wasn't ready. In the end I waited forty minutes for my room to be ready. I wouldn't have minded so much if I had received any apology, but they didn't apologise once, not even a single time, and acted as if it wasn't their fault because the previous occupant had checked out late. The room had no windows, and is poorly maintained. The bathrooms were disgusting, the soap wasn't refilled, the shower gave only cold water. I didn't even go for breakfast because the hygiene standard was so low. The bathroom doors didn't lock properly. The door of the room was jammed and needed strong force to open and close. I wasn't expecting luxury for the price, but with so many good value for money options in Colombo, this hotel should be avoided. The only good thing is the location.

The room was clean (6 bed room) and the toilets are pretty fine. But I could not sleep between 22:00h and 02:00h because some men (I dont know if it was the staff or guests) were SCREAMING next to my room/ corridor and singing. As I contacted the hotel number and FB, they would scream even more. It took more that 3H for the hotel to respond (I was alone and did not want to talk to them myself) If you want to have a nice rest, make sure to talk to the manager!

Nice hotel, if any body needs to visit colombo, Cityrest hotel is best option to stay. Nice service provided by the hotel management, safety, neat and tidy I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ludharshan at the best hostel and hotel space. He is a very talented individual, and people often say that age is just a number. I never believed it until I met Ludharshan. Before meeting him, I had dreams of starting my own business. Now, seeing his success, I am inspired to take action and pursue my dreams. There is no need to wait when you have the capability to achieve your goals. He can manage the world, but he is still waiting.
