So glad we gave Daisy’s a try! After visiting the Museum of Science and Industry, we stopped by Daisy’s for dinner and were so happy with our experience. To eat, three of us ordered 3 Biscuits with Honey Butter, Fried Green Tomatoes, a bowl of the Seafood Gumbo, the 6” BBQ Shrimp Po’ Boy, and the 6” Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy. The biscuits were buttery and cheesy and the honey butter was just the right amount of sweet. The Fried Green Tomatoes were good but not the star of the show. The sandwiches were incredibly flavorful and delicious. The Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy had just a kick of spice that really added to the flavor. Finally, the Seafood Gumbo had the perfect zip we were looking for and was so flavorful. All around, the food was amazing and just what we were looking for from a Cajun restaurant. For the ambiance, the restaurant was decorated with fun, Cajun-themed decor and the employees were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Daisy’s for casual, Cajun cuisine in Hyde Park!

Plenty of seating here and good for groups. You order with the cashier, take a number card, then seat yourself. I would like to try some other things on the menu but I did like the Buffalo shrimp. The fried green tomatoes weren’t bad either. I think there’s a little room for improvement with those but the remoulade that came with it was great. Will visit again!

Went here on a Saturday evening and had a great experience! The food was so delicious and fresh! Every thing on my plate tasted great and it was enough to get me full. I actually had to take some home. The atmosphere is super fun and they play New Orleans themed music. All the workers were polite and attentive. You pay for your food up front, seat yourself wherever you choose, then they bring it to your table. The water, silverware and to go containers are all out for you to get yourself. I got the catfish plate and my total was $26

Really good sandwich (bbq gulf shrimp) a little pricey at 16 bucks for a 6 inch poor boy. Draft beer on tap is nice at around 7 bucks. For 3 of us we spent almost 90 dollars which is a tad on the pricey for sandwiches. High top chairs are uncomfortable. Roomie interior though and parking directly across the street at 5 bucks for 2 hours is convenient. Lower prices, more comfortable dining would take it to a 5.

Daisy’s Po-Boy and Tavern is nestled on the corner of 52nd and Harper Avenue in Hyde Park, Chicago, Illinois. Created by owner, Chef Erick Williams, the establishment has a few classic cajun and creole classics. It’s Hyde Park, so parking is tight. Thankfully I went during the week where parking is a “little easier” to find – a few blocks away. When entering, you order and pay for your food and drinks first. After sitting, if you decide to order more food, you can pay via credit card at your table with staff. While there, I tried, the Catfish Po’ Boy, Shrimp Po’ Boy, Seafood Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, and the Banana Pecan Bourbon Toffee Cake. All were fabulous with a hearty serving amount. I definitely will visit again to try the fried chicken and biscuits.
