The room (that was supposed to be a store room, was next to the kitchen. The staff were cleaning late at night and setting up early in the morning. All I wanted was a good, peaceful night of rest. The room had no air-conditioning or airflow and the windows opened to a narrow, humid alley with the sounds of flushed water and drains keeping you up, if you do decide to open a window. There was a ceiling fan that circulated the hot air. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything next door. There is CNN, a sport channel, a movie channel, and two local broadcasting stations with very poor reception. The soap and shampoo containers were so old, you couldn't even make out the lodge's name on it. It was loadshedding over breakfast and I was 'instructed' to have breakfast between 7 and 8am. No discount offered for this inconvenience. KARIN was rude and uptight. Having more time to answer telephone calls than to attend to customers in front of her. The beds are hard and the pillows uncomfortable. This is a glorified backpackers, if you like, with on—suite shower facilities. Drop your expectations and you will have the time of your life. Not for families or holidaymakers. The toilet and shower is one small facility. I would rather stay at a city lodge, road lodge, or even a formula1 hotel than this establishment that is rap8ng people, just because of their location. If the rate was less, yes sure, value for money and all, but this?!

Great location. Unpleasant stay. I wanted to stay here more but had to be out there waiting for their response for long;; No response at the end. Not helpful. There's a lot of better places around here in V&A waterfront.

Very neat homely spot, perfectly positioned along the beachfront. Love the wide window in the dining area. Very welcoming and friendly staff

We had a very nice stay at the Dolphin Inn Guest House. First the excellent locatie at the boulevard of Cape Town. Our room (5) was in the back, tiny and tidy, spic & span. The sound of the ocean is so relaxing at night. The breakfast at Dolphin Inn Guesthouse is very good with everything you would expect for English breakfast. And with the best view at the ocean and the boulevard. Paul & Tanya and their staff are so friendly and their hospitallity is excellent. Would we be in Cape Town again we hope to come back to the Dolphin Inn Guest House!
