Don Mueang Airport Modern Bangkok Hotel

We stayed here on the last night of our Thailand trip. This is the worst hotel experience of the whole trip. Upon check in, the lady made no attempt to exhibit the slightest hospitality, no greetings, no welcome gestures; she speaks not a single word of English and uses her phone translator to communicate to us the whole time and her impatience is written all over her face; then she asking for 1000 THB cash for deposit. I was annoyed at this policy because we wanted to use up to the cash before leaving Thailand, now left with 1000 THB because of this deposit. But we still paid. The room is ok, except long hairs on the clean sheets. The most annoying thing in the room is, echoing previous reviews, there’s no remote controller for the air con and lots of unwelcome rule posters plastered all over the wall. They state how they will be fined you if you do this and that (some unreasonable ones, such as if you move any of the furnitures like bench or bedside table, it’s thousands of baht fine). Worst incident happened at check out. I timed the check out time based on the flight time, because I was expecting a simple key drop and claiming back the deposit. However, after I hand over the key, the same lady from check in asked another cleaning lady to get up to our room on the far end of the third floor to perform an inspection. I was not informed of any inspection upon check out, so I was worried about missing the flight if this takes too long. So I asked her if she can expedite the process because I have a flight to catch. (Again, all the communication was all through her phone translator, which takes even longer) To that, she simply responded rudely on the translator “Then, why didn’t you come down earlier?!” (Again, I was not informed at all about the inspection. Neither have I ever stayed in a hotel in Thailand or elsewhere in the world that they do this) Fortunately, the other lady was quite quick, so process didn’t take too long, and we left the room fairly tidy anyway. So I took my deposit back and left. Upon leaving, the lady was still murmuring behind me in Thai. It was then I decided to write up my first ever review to warn off other travelers from making a mistake. Because we had such an amazing time in Thailand; Thai people are so friendly and lovely; but this lady and this hotel simply soured our experience being the last night of our stay by the airport.
