This hotel is halfway through a major renovation so it's a mixed bag. Public areas are dated and worn. Renovated rooms are nice, big, bright, beds comfy and showers powerful. People are positive and kind. All in all a good value find.

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel is in the process of being renovated, as it was bought by the Hilton. It is certainly a grand hotel, with a beautiful carved wooden bar and lots of wooden details throughout. The room was very clean. Although the 3 dispensers in the shower were empty. But I think it was because they are in the middle of the transition. The included breakfast was yummy. I enjoyed the location. There’s parking in the attached parking garage, which was very easy. And they also had a shuttle to some of the tourist points around the city. Which was wonderful. Great parking, Great central location, restaurants nearby, very clean.

We just stayed at this hotel and while the renovated room was nice, they charged us for a King Bed but it was actually a queen. We took a picture of it but the manager insisted it was a king. The breakfast was cold and the coffee was empty because the construction crew gets their coffee before they start work. Good location but not worth the hassle.

For the cost and location near the train station, this is worth the stay. Know that it's undergoing renovations. Our room was hot because the sun heated up the room through the west-facing window and the AC wasn't very strong. Hallways were 10 degrees cooler. All-you-can eat breakfast was like most you'll find at hotels of this price. Bar shut down early on a weeknight.

Terrible location. We parked at the top of the parking garage so we could keep an eye on our car from our room, and still woke up to it vandalized (the steel wheels on the passenger side had been tagged with red spray paint). Market Street Bar & Grill stopped serving food before 8pm. On a Saturday. In August. Also at the bar, ordered a club soda with bitters & twist of lime. Didn't get the bitters. (At least, though, I was only charged a dollar for it.) Diet Pepsi in the convenience shop was expired (glad I checked before purchasing). We doordashed a couple 20oz bottles of Pepsi, and the front desk made me get dressed and come down to get it. Doing us the courtesy of bringing it to our room would have been a nice gesture. Climate control in the corridor was non-operational or non-existent. Outside of the room's windows were terribly dirty. Really spoiled what would have otherwise been a great view of the Hudson. Grate on the climate control was installed backwards so it blew cold air straight onto the wall instead of into the more open space of the room. Only good things I can say about it: The lobby was beautiful, the room was clean (though dated, despite being freshly renovated), and it was easy to get to.
