Element Las Vegas Summerlin

Stayed 3 nights in December of 2023 to be near Red Rock Canyon, Death Valley, and to check out some of the yummy new restaurants in the Summerlin area like the "Eat Your Heart Out" food court at Durango and Cafe Breizh. Our trip was a great success since the weather cooperated and we enjoyed great hikes, fresh air, and beautiful vistas. The room I was assigned was on the 1st floor. At check-in I was asked if I had any preferences to which I said the quietest room. I am so thankful for that, but I wish the receptionist could have told me that this floor was given to guests with pets. All the pets were quiet and well behaved, but we found so much pet fur on our clothes, socks, and house slippers. Not a good thing introducing that and bringing it home with us to children with allergies. Had to visit a laundromat to wash all of our clothes. Besides this the room wasn't the most visibly appealing. The shower door handle was loose, moldly corners in the shower stall, several areas of poorly applied sealant/caulk to attach strips of rubberized barriers were found detached, and faucet fixtures both in the kitchen and bathroom were stained and rusty. These small details add up to a substandard room when compared to the Element Hotels I stayed in Philadelphia, Scottsdale, and Austin. I love this brand, it is my preferred Marriott hotel but this one in Summerlin did not meet the expectations created by other sister properties. Room 106 I assume is typical of the entire first floor. The free breakfast was decent (yogurt bar, bread with toasters, fruit salad, runny eggs and sausage, and cereal with multiple milk options, 4 juices, and whole fruit available every morning), parking was ample, the gym was diverse (3 treadmills and 5-7 machines, and free weights), and the pool was heated. I loved all the amenities! As for service, I asked for two toothbrushes and they were immediately delivered and our towels were refreshed every morning upon our request. I even got to enjoy the complimentary beer and cheese a couple nights. This stay off The Strip has me reconsidering my next visit to Las Vegas. Perhaps it is better to stay at a property where there is high turnover because those rooms are serviced more and issues are taken care of more quickly and more professionally in order to prepare them for the next customer. I simply cannot stand the smell of cigarettes so that is why I opted for Summerlin. Maybe I can have both next time, just not at this property, sadly, because I love Element Hotels and am loyal to them. This one just let me down. Hope they do not let you down too.

Extremely disappointed in the management of this location. I had to cancel my reservation but then booked it again within a few hours. I was still charged the cancellation fee even though I rebooked and actually stayed and didn't end up canceling my stay. Unbelievably ridiculous. Don't waste your time staying here. There are MUCH better places. It was extremely noisy in my room from the people above, beds not comfortable, water was scalding hot. Night front desk person was super friendly however.
