EPIC SANA Algarve Hotel

To begin with, this hotel is in no way comparable to a real five star hotel and its luxury. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. As soon as you enter the hotel you notice the candle lanterns with the paint peeling off. The hotel employees at the reception wear frayed jackets and their keyboards and monitors are on homemade Styrofoam plates. The elevators do not have a soft close, on the contrary metal bangs against metal when the doors close and once they are in motion, without words.. The hallway to our room was very dark and didn't seem inviting Now to our room, it was dark, the stereo speakers for the TV were broken, the dishes were dirty, there was no kettle, the shower head was broken, the shower head holder was broken, the floor tiles in the shower were not attached and moving, the sliding doors made a hell of a noise when you tried to close them, a glass plate from the balcony railing was broken, it's impossible to sleep when the neighbors let their front doors slam shut, you stand in bed because everything shakes, from our balcony we saw a glass fence with another broken glass plate and we could also look at the roof of the swimming pool, which was rusted. The reception wasn't really interested in the deficiencies found and directed us to another room. The covers on the sun loungers were so dirty and weren't changed during our stay. The parasol stands were totally scratched and didn't fit the parasols. The floor panels are completely warped and have holes in them that can become a problem for children's feet. Based on the pool house you could also see that no great emphasis is placed on maintenance, the paint is cracking and it is not visible. The coffee at breakfast was terrible, luckily we had a Nespresso machine in the room and brought our own coffee for breakfast. (We bought the coffee outside in the supermarket). The prices at the pool are crazy for what we saw! There are no sunbeds provided by the hotel at the beach No thought was given to the equipment of the gym, it's just a bad joke. After a few days it started to smell in the elevator and hallway. Apart from the coffee, the breakfast was ok, that doesn't mean it's five star class. Understandably, we didn't visit the restaurants. The view and the greenery and forests were very beautiful. It’s a 3 star hotel with 5 star prices!

Our four night stay at the Epic Sana Algarve was one of the highlights of our Portugal trip. First, we were greeted by an amazing gentlemen at the front desk - even if it was late. The bellboy brought us to our room where we felt we were royalty. The room is spacious with a balcony with a nice view from the 4th floor - even if we did not have a special view of the premises. It is also spotless clean with all that you need for an amazing stay. Breakfast was absolutely perfect with a lot of choices. Service during breakfast was also very courteous and on point. The hotel amenities are amazing! We used the outside pool during the day, the inside pool during the evening (and we were alone every single time). We can use as many towels as we want. We went to the beach that is - to our opinion - the most beautiful beach we saw in Algarve and very easy to get to with the hotel pathways. And talking about the pathways - it is very well maintained! Do not hesitate to do a walk around the hotel at night, under the trees. It is a romantic moment we will keep in our hearts for long.
