Very bad hotel We arrived in the night to sleep few hours before our flight for France We found a room dirty, not clean at all, sheets not changed (real!) and mouse droppings in the bathroom... and NO hot Water We tried to explain to the guy but he said "it's not expensive so what do you expect?" (We paid 1500 LKR it's not so cheap for 5 hours...) One good thing : he drops you at the airport (500lkr) Never Again

Erandi Holiday Home is the worst place I have ever stayed; and, I have stayed at some pretty bad hostels. First of all, the place is Mosquito Heaven! For two nights, I was getting bit and swatting at these pests. The filthy, smelly mosquito net did not fit right. And, it certainly didn't help that there were several holes in the wall. It's as though the owners welcome mosquitos into their "home". Secondly, Erandi Holiday Home is disgusting. The sheets shown in pictures are not representative of what they actually give you. The actual sheets are dirty, old mismatched rags that feel gritty and left dirt all over me. There's blood stains on the walls from previous mosquito victims and I left one of my own. Literally, nothing is clean at this place, including the slack-jawwed owners. I would have walked out immediately if I was in my own country or had cellphone service. Which brings me to the service. I have to admit, they were friendly enough, albeit disinterested in running a proper business. My room was never cleaned while I was there. And, boy, did it need it. Food was never offered. Old, nasty soap was left for me in the bathroom (which also had holes in the walls serving as VIP entrances for the mosquitos). And, I didn't even get a key until the 2nd night. In short: terrible, lazy service. And, finally...the real clincher... I had requested a late checkout of 7 p.m. Of course, here comes the mouth-breathing owner at 12 p.m. We tried to discuss it calmly for 15 minutes. Despite me showing him both my special request and confirmation, he said he never confirmed it. In truth, he probably couldn't read English and had no idea what he was doing. We then argued and cursed at each other and I left the place. Pissed off, I walked to the airport, took a shower in the bathroom, and here I sit, 10 hours prior to my flight. Honestly, he did me a favor. At least the airport is clean and air-conditioned. You'd be better off sleeping in a park. Forget Erandi Holiday Home. It's a total pig-sty! Don't say I didn't warn you.
