I'm actually shocked that the owner would write a response full of lies like that. I'm not sure how he got to become a super host or any 5 star reviews. These were not non-existent issues. These issues were very much present and if he couldn't smell anything, he must have something wrong with his nose. Not one of the kids or adults went to that bathroom because the smell was so unbearable. We all shared one bathroom between the 11 of us. We posted real pictures showing how dirty the vents were and how dusty all the chairs were. We didn't fly all the way from the US to defame an Airbnb host. We went together as a family and were hoping to have a wonderful trip in Rome. Instead we got a disgusting apartment that smelled, didn't have good water pressure, cold apartment, and unusable pots and pans. We didn't have any of these issues with the Airbnb hosts in Florence or Venice. We actually had great places to stay and absolutely no complaints about those Airbnbs. If the Airbnb host really believes that it's the law to keep the thermostat between 18-20C, he just admitted to breaking the law by saying he set the thermostat to 21C. Not only that, if the owner came twice to fix nonexistent issues, how come he also said that he called the water company to fix the issue and that they would fix it during the night? I didn't know the water company could fix nonexistent issues. As you can see, he's lying about many things and has no proof of what he is saying. We actually stayed there, took pictures of all the problems we had and was with a group of 3 families. We aren't the type of folks who are trying to scam him by writing a bad review. We're trying to protect the future people from renting from a horrible place. If I could give this place negative stars I would. There's no way people on Airbnb gave him raving reviews. This place is absolutely disgusting. The owner should take responsibility of his own actions instead of trying to deflect the blame on families who stayed there. Writing a bad review does no good for me and I'm only doing this so that future people who are thinking about renting this place have a good sense of what it's truly like. I hope Airbnb takes the complaint we sent them seriously. If the owner took some pictures and videos of the real situation, please post them. I don't believe it one bit and neither did the other 10 people who stayed. A note to the owner. Don't be a liar about the whole situation. We were all there to experience it. You saw it and tried to buy us off with a cheap bottle of wine that won "many international awards". Well barefoot also won many international awards but I don't see anyone raving over it. Italy is not a 3rd world country to us. More than half of us grew up in a third world country but we do have standards. $2500 was our most expensive Airbnb and is worse than a cheap motel.
